![]() The internal ring bus from the R520 and R600 has been replaced by the combination of a crossbar and an internal hub. RV770 features a 256-bit memory controller and is the first GPU to support GDDR5 memory, which runs at 900 MHz giving an effective transfer rate of 3.6 GHz and memory bandwidth of up to 115 GB/s. ![]() The RV770 also has 10 texture units, each of which can handle 4 addresses, 16 FP32 samples, and 4 FP32 filtering functions per clock cycle. The RV770 retains the R600's 4 Quad ROP cluster count, however, they are faster and now have dedicated hardware-based AA resolve in addition to the shader-based resolve of the R600 architecture. The RV770 extends the R600's unified shader architecture by increasing the stream processing unit count to 800 units (up from 320 units in the R600), which are grouped into 10 SIMD cores composed of 16 shader cores containing 4 FP MADD/DP ALUs and 1 MADD/transcendental ALU. All products implement TeraScale 1 microarchitecture. 3.0.6 refuses to compile the radeon firmware. This article is about all products under the brand "Radeon HD 4000 Series". I,ve mostly been working with kernel 2.6.38 (with 39 I couldn't compile vmware kernel-modules). Here follows both the nf from X -configure and the one I have had working for ATI-fglrx. I am out of ideas, the resolution is livable, but not the refresh rate. It could be that the driver is convinced I have an LCD so I tried Option "ReverseDDC", which according to the man-page should switch the VGA and DVI-D connectors. I finaly found in the ATI-catalist an option to set my screen capabilities. I had a similar problem with Windows, it ignored the screen and only wanted 60Hz or interlaced. I see a short pop-up that it can't confirm resolutions, but that doesn't go to the log. This goes both for full auto detection and X -configure. It only gives me some default vesa resolutions up to 1024 x 768 with only a refreshrate of 60 Hz, while my monitor supports up to 100 or more. I've tried both the xorg-radeon and the ATI fglrx driverĪt one time I got the ATI driver working properly, but it garbled my console, so I steped back to the xorg driver. Now I have a MSI760 GM with AMD-ATI chipset. I'm quite versed in X-less Linux, but now I want Gentoo on my new working machine! (The networkcard was unstable probably bad soldering, and they didn't have the same model anymore) ![]() I had it quite decent set up, but I had to exchange the board for another with a an AMD-ATI instead of nvidia chipset.
